Summary
Digital Match Book 2.0 is designed as a local-first competitor match-book app. Matches, stage logs, rifle data, settings, and DMB Lab sessions are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, import, or send selected content through an optional feature. The app does not require a Digital Match Book account.
Information stored on your device
The app may store match names and details, stages, targets, notes, self-entered shot results, PEWS counts, impact marks, photos, zero cards, checklists, rifle and load information, Kestrel readings, DMB Lab sessions, and app preferences. This information is used to provide the features you choose to use.
Match Finder and external registration
Match Finder uses a public match catalog derived from Impact Scoring information. Choosing Register opens the match's Impact Scoring page. Any information you provide there is handled by that service under its own policies; Digital Match Book does not sign you in or submit registration information for you.
Optional Course of Fire import assist
If you choose Course of Fire import assist, the text, documents, or images you select are sent directly to OpenAI to create a structured draft for your review. Before each transfer, the app identifies OpenAI as the recipient, describes the selected content, and asks you to approve sending it. The feature uses an OpenAI API key stored in your device Keychain, which may link the request to the associated OpenAI account. You can cancel the disclosure or create and edit matches without using this optional assist.
Digital Match Book does not use this content for advertising or tracking. OpenAI states that API content is not used to train its models unless the API account opts in. OpenAI may retain request content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days by default and may retain Responses API application state according to the API account's data-control settings. The app's response-retention option is off by default.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
App data remains on your device until you edit it, delete it, remove the app, or restore a different backup. You can revoke future COF transfer consent by choosing Cancel when the disclosure appears; the app will not upload that selection. You can delete the OpenAI API key from Local Data settings and manage or request deletion of content retained by OpenAI through the controls for the OpenAI account tied to that key.
For help deleting local data or for a privacy request involving Digital Match Book, contact us using the address below. We will delete support correspondence when it is no longer needed to handle the request, subject to legal and security obligations.
Service-provider protections
We require service providers that process data for Digital Match Book to handle it consistently with this policy and to provide the same or equivalent privacy protection required of the app. Their own terms and privacy policies also apply when you deliberately use their services, including OpenAI for optional COF processing and Impact Scoring for external match registration.
Bluetooth, nearby sharing, and local network access
Bluetooth may be used to connect a supported Kestrel and read field measurements. Bluetooth and local network access may also be used when you deliberately start nearby encrypted match sharing. The app does not run a cloud match-sync account service.
Photos, microphone, and speech recognition
Photo access is requested only when you choose images to attach to a stage or use with COF import. Microphone and speech-recognition access are requested only when you turn on and run the experimental Shot Tracker. You can use the rest of the app without enabling Shot Tracker.
Exports and sharing
You control exports from the app, including encrypted base-match packages, rifle-data packages, backups, PDFs, CSV files, and JSON. Once you send a file to another person or service, its handling is governed by the destination you selected.
Website data and email
This website provides product information, a public future-match table, support, and privacy pages. Hosting and DNS providers may process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, request time, and requested pages to deliver and protect the site. Beta-interest and support links open your email client; the website does not maintain a beta-interest account or mailing-list database.
Tracking and sale of data
We do not sell personal data. This website does not include advertising pixels or cross-app tracking scripts.
Children
Digital Match Book is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support, contact us so we can review the request.
